Assessment

Liberty ILS will do an initial interview to introduce us to you and go over a plan.
 
2-3 months before you move your coordinator will set up an assessment period, where a Liberty worker  asks questions to find out what services you need to be successful. We will also start looking for a roommate, if needed, and together we search for your home.
 
We will assist you in submitting paperwork to your new landlord, locating household items that you may need and setting up utilities for your move.
 
Initially you will want to have between $1000 and $1500 saved for a move to pay for credit checks, deposit and your first month's rent. This would also include food and household items for when you first move.
 
We will also assist with getting you on the Section 8 waiting list.

Moving into your own apartment is both exciting and a little scary. We work with you closely so that you know what is going on and feel confident that you can afford to pay your rent and bills and have enough left for food and personal items.
 
We also focus on making sure you feel safe in your new home and know what to do in case of an emergency.

Scheduled Visits

Once we finish the assessment and you are moved, we complete your ISP (individual service plan) and together determine how many visits you will need each week.
 
During the visits we work on budgeting, grocery shopping and cooking, household cleaning and laundry, disaster preparation, household safety, and more.  View the list of services we provide on our Services page.

Each person has different needs, and we can assist you with everything from setting up doctors and getting you to your appointments to locating recreational activities in your area or using the bus from your new home.

On-Going 24-Hour Care

We understand that life's events are often unplanned.  Our staff is available to assist you when things become challenging.  We are available 24/7 for emergencies, so you are never alone.
